Hot Topics - Voting in 2016. There are many changes for voters in 2016. Primaries come early this year and that's just the beginning. Come hear Sara Knotts, Director of the Brunswick County Board of Elections, talk about the changes we voters will encounter this year and learn more about the Board of Elections and how it works.

Included in the presentation you can expect to learn answers to some frequently asked questions. What should you expect when asked for a photo ID when you go to vote? How will those working at the polls decide that what you present is appropriate? What other questions will be asked of you when you go to vote? How do you determine your voting precinct and polling site for Election Day? How do you know where to cast an early ballot? What does Unaffiliated Voter mean and does an unaffiliated voter get to vote in a primary election? What is a provisional ballot and how does that work? What do you do if you want to cast an absentee ballot? Will your vote count if you haven't done something exactly as stated by the new law? And, how is a Board of Elections selected and how do they and the staff function. Sara will answer as many questions as she can on these topics.
