About Our Speaker

Tom Ross is currently president of the Volcker Alliance, a nonpartisan organization aimed at rebuilding public trust in government.

A North Carolina native, Judge Ross was president of the UNC system for five years. Prior to that he was president of Davidson College and chief executive of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, Inc. He was a North Carolina superior court judge for 17 years and also served as director of the N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts.

In January 2016 Ross was named the first Terry Sanford Distinguished Fellow at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy, where he has been working on a project on bipartisan redistricting. He initiated a redistricting simulation project and advised a bipartisan panel of retired North Carolina judges and justices during the process.

FREE Ticket Information

Free tickets for this event may be picked up at Sharky's Box Office on January 18th beginning at 10:00 a.m. and throughout the day and evening. UNCW requires every attendee to have a ticket.

Sharky's Box Office is located on the first floor of the Fisher Student Center at the entrance to Lumina Theater.

If you are a member of a sponsoring organization, check with your organization about special ticket arrangements.

Parking Directions

We have arranged for free special event parking on campus in Lot M and Lot E beginning at 6:00 p.m. Both of these lots are close to Fisher Student Center. Please car pool if at all possible. You do not need a pass or windshield sticker.

To reach either lot, enter the campus from College Road at Hurst Drive. Continue to the intersection with Hamilton Drive and take a left.

For Lot E, continue straight on Hamilton Drive which ends at Lot E. Be sure to park in Lot E and not directly in front of Fisher Student Center.

For Lot M, stay on Hamilton Drive as far as the intersection with Riegel Road and take a right. Continue on Riegel Road past the intersection with Price Drive and look for the entrance to Lot M on your left a short distance further. (The GPS address for Lot M is 4941 Riegel Road, Wilmington, NC.)
